Shining Lights Preschool & Daycare Center

Our Staff

Shining Lights Preschool and Daycare is a fully staffed, privately owned center. We are fully licensed by the State of New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services to serve children ages 2½ through school age. Shining Lights has been accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International since 2005.

Director/Teacher: Barbara Crankshaw has well over ten years of management and teaching experience. She has a Master's Degree in Education from Philadelphia Biblical University and received her BA in Elementary Education from Glassboro State College. She holds certification for k-8 as well as Early Childhood. She is Adult CPR&AED / Child CPR&AED / Infant CPR certified. She enjoys working with all ages of children as well as encouraging parents. As a member of Bethel Baptist Church she serves in the God’s Beginnings program.

Teaching Staff

The teaching staff all meet the highest professional standard. A mininimun of a CDA - Child Development Associate's degree is required by the State. Most of our teachers hold BA degrees. Each teacher must also complete 10 hours of continuing education each year and be current in First Aide, CPR and AED training.

Support Staff

Shining Lights Preschool and Daycare center employes several aides who supply support for our teachers and their classes. Even within our aide staff, we have a very low turnover rate. A few have been with us for going on five years! Each aide must receive their CPR training as well as other staff training to help insure the best care for all of the children.

As you visit our web site you will begin to get a picture of what Shining Lights is about. The facilities, the curriculum, and the teachers are all a part of who we are and what we do. What you may not be able to picture is the level of commitment and caring that we have for each child that is in our center. We believe that children are created by God, in His image. To be able to care for these children is a responsibility that we do not take lightly. We will do our best to ensure that your child, along with each child in our center is able to learn, grow and be cared for in a safe, secure, loving environment.
