Dave is a graduate of Baptist Bible College, Clarks Summit, PA (1980) and Moody Graduate School (1997). Ruth Ann (Fraser) is a graduate of Cornerstone College, Grand Rapids, MI (1977).  Both of them grew up in Christian homes in which missions was a constant part, whether through serving in the work of starting churches, Christian camps or just working in the local church.  They met were married in 1980 and four years later arrived in Chile where God had led them to preach and teach the Word of Christ. Dave and Ruth Ann Rogers are missionaries that were sent out by Bethel Baptist to Chile in 1984. Since arriving there, they have served the Lord in the tasks of church planting, evangelism, discipleship, and leadership formation.
Dave’s focus in Chile has been the formation of churches that can make a difference in their surrounding area, that have passion for the lost and that equip and train national leaders. During the 24 years they have been in Chile, the Rogers have started one church from the ground  level up, assisted in the formation of a second one, and  led a church in the center city of Santiago to grow substantially, reaching deaf, college students, singles, and families. The past 8 years of ministry have been in the New Life Baptist Church which is now involved in a building project to develop its own facility. New Life has a team of four pastors and missionaries. Ruth Ann’s heart is attuned to the needs of the education of children and the encouragement of women, moms, separated, and single women. Her years of work in Chile have been geared toward producing teaching materials for Sunday School, leading Bible studies for women, and training godly women who can touch their homes with God’s grace. Dave and Ruth Ann have four children. Brenda is married to Gordon McComb and lives in Kentucky. Joel is married to Sarah and lives in North Carolina.  Melissa attends Baptist Bible College in New York and Andrea attends Santiago Christian Academy in Chile. Free days, when available, are spent doing things around their home: gardening, biking, and playing sports with their children. Dave’s favorite sport is sailing, which can be done on a lake about an hour and half from their home in Santiago. All their children have learned to love the outdoors through the many years of camping and hiking throughout Chile. Two of the children have played organized soccer and three have studied formally a musical instrument. Ruth Ann is an accomplished organist, with a Bachelor’s in music, which through the years in Chile, has opened many opportunities to use music as a witness for Christ.
