Every Sunday at 9am we offer a variety of electives that last anywhere from six to ten weeks. Our vision is to EQUIP our adults to live life as an authentic disciple of Jesus Christ. Over the course of the year we will offer as many as 15 different classes ranging from a study of a particular book of the Bible to a theme woven throughout Scripture. Our new session of EQUIP Electives begin soon on Sunday, January 28. Be sure to read about our upcoming options and plan to be a part of one of the classes. In the mean time, you're always welcome to come to our current electives. Just go to the Welcome Center in the lobby to learn what electives are meeting and where.
Psalm 119 — Timon Cline In Psalm 119, you will revisit the words of King David who experienced similar seasons of life as many of us — times when God feels distant or His Word seems dry or we simply lack vibrancy in our relationship with Him. Even the most mature believers have or will walk through these seasons. Psalm 119 reminds us of the power of God’s Word in our lives and its ability to provide a "warm blanket for the soul”.
God’s Pursuit of Man — Mike Moran
Salvation is — from our side — a choice, from the divine side it is a conquest by The Most High God. This elective is a study taken from the book “God’s Pursuit of Man” by A.W. Tozer. A discussion based class that will focus on what it means to be truly saved, not mere assent to knowing about Jesus, but being Conquered by The Almighty and invaded by The Spirit. A saved person is a transformed person. This class will challenge those who attend to focus on the transforming difference of knowing God, not simply knowing about God. We highly recommend you purchase the book in order to pre-read for each week. Buy it here.
Evidence that Demands a Verdict — Rowan Valenzuela
In a time of skepticism it is good to have evidence. Have you ever considered what evidence there is for Christianity? What evidence is there verifying the Bible, historicity of Jesus, the resurrection, and more. This class will use Josh McDowell’s book by the same title and work through a large variety of answers useful for explaining why the Bible is trustworthy. We highly recommend purchasing this book to use through the class and to have for future study. Buy it here.
