In 1964 a group of thirteen people met in a private home for prayer, seeking God’s direction in forming a new church in the rapidly growing community of Cherry Hill.  Bethel Baptist Fellowship held its first service with thirteen present in September of 1964.

The first Sunday service was held at the Barclay School on June 10, 1965.  In October, the congregation voted to purchase a four-acre tract of land on Springdale Road.  On May 20, 1965 construction began on the original building which now houses our Uptown and Downtown ministries.

Classroom additions were made to the original building and construction on the present auditorium began in September, 1970.  With the completion of several more classroom additions and with more space needed, Bethel purchased the former ABWE building in 1993 which now houses our Shining Lights ECC ministry, Student Ministry and offices.

The Family Life Center received a complete renovation in 2014 and renovations were made to the Worship Center in 2015 with the completion of phase 1 in 2016.
